Cricket at Sharley Park, Clay Cross has been played since the 1870s. As can be seen from the winter photo above the ground is very picturesque and its even better during the summer months. Surely there aren't any better grounds in North East Derbyshire, apart from the Queens Park in Chesterfield.
The club currently plays its cricket in Division 9N of the Derbyshire County Cricket League. We have been members of the DCCL since 1992, prior to this date being members of the Mansfield CL and the North Derbyshire CL.
The club was founded in 1972 and after spending just one year playing on the Chesterfield Council's Langer Lane playing fields the club has spent the remainder of its existence at Sharley Park.
We have a small playing squad which makes the club very friendly and close knit. This ensures that the atmosphere is fun, competitive and relaxed.
The club enters the 2017 season on the back of a an unbeaten streak going back to May 2016. We are keen to attract new players to strengthen our push to Division 8N. Go to our 'About Us' page to find our contact details.
